Ahmed joined Northwood’s Investment Team as a Senior Investment Analyst where he will be instrumental in overseeing our investment strategies, conducting due diligence on new managers, and exploring private equity opportunities.
With around eight years in the investment industry, Ahmed brings a vast array of experience and has contributed to several high-profile projects. During his previous positions as a Research Analyst at Grayhawk and an Investment Analyst at the TTC Pension Plan, he was entrusted with the oversight of both the Public and Private market portfolios. This encompassed a broad spectrum of investments, including Equities, Fixed Income, Private Equity, and Private Credit. Ahmed has been pivotal in integrating significant initiatives into the Public Portfolio, notably Multi-Asset Credit and Emerging Markets.
In a strategic capacity at Mercer, within the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) Pension Fund with $50 billion in AUM, Ahmed’s role as Senior Associate in Strategy and Implementation underscored his expertise in strategic planning and implementation.
Ahmed is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and currently preparing for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) exam scheduled for this September. Ahmed’s academic background includes an Honors Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Economics from the University of Toronto, complemented by a Master of Finance from the Executive program at Wilfrid Laurier University. Furthermore, Ahmed’s commitment to community development is reflected in his role as a lecturer at Seneca College, where he teaches Financial Management and is dedicated to mentoring students, offering guidance on their career paths, and fostering their growth within the finance sector.
Ahmed is an avid cricket enthusiast, enjoying both playing the game and watching matches in his spare time. He also has a passion for travel, seeking out new destinations to explore diverse cultures and cuisines.
